Cancellation Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
Thank you for considering a tour with me. The terms below apply to tours booked directly through this website. They are designed to be fair to both you and me, and to keep our day together calm and well-prepared. If you booked through Viator or Airbnb, that platform’s own cancellation terms apply instead.
Booking and payment
Your booking is confirmed once we have agreed on a date and your payment has been received through my secure online payment provider (such as PayPal, Wise, or a credit-card processor). Paying in advance lets me hold the date just for you and prepare a plan made for your group.
Cancellation by you (the guest)
If you need to cancel, please tell me as early as you can. The cancellation fee depends on how far ahead of the tour date you cancel:
- 30 days or more before the tour: full refund — no fee (0%)
- 15–29 days before: 30% cancellation fee (you receive a 70% refund)
- 8–14 days before: 50% cancellation fee (you receive a 50% refund)
- 1–7 days before: 70% cancellation fee (you receive a 30% refund)
- On the tour day, or no-show: 100% — no refund
Cut-off times are based on Kanazawa local time (Japan Standard Time). Refunds are made to your original payment method. Please note that payment-provider fees (for example PayPal or Wise fees) are set by the provider and may not be refundable; where that applies, the refund will be the amount above minus any such non-refundable fee.
If you are running late on the day
Please contact me as soon as you can if you are delayed. I will do my best to wait and adjust our plan, but the tour will still end at the scheduled time, and time lost to a late start cannot always be made up. If you do not arrive within 30 minutes of the start time and I have not heard from you, this is treated as a same-day cancellation.
Cancellation by me (the guide)
If I (Yuri) am unable to guide on the booked day due to illness, family emergency, or any reason on my side, you will receive a full refund. I will let you know as soon as I can and, where possible, offer to reschedule the tour at no extra cost.
Weather
This tour is mostly outdoors and needs reasonably safe weather to be enjoyable. If a tour must be canceled due to severe weather — such as a typhoon warning, a heavy-snow advisory, or similar conditions that make the tour unsafe or impractical — you will be offered either an alternative date or a full refund.
Light rain or normal seasonal weather is part of Kanazawa’s character — we will plan the day around it together rather than cancel.
Changes and rescheduling
Date or time changes are subject to availability. Requests made within 24 hours of the tour start time cannot be accepted. For changes earlier than that, please contact me as soon as possible so I can keep the new date open for you.
Major disruptive events
In rare cases — such as natural disasters, government travel restrictions, or other major events that make the tour impossible to carry out safely — the tour will be canceled with a full refund, or rescheduled by mutual agreement, regardless of the usual timelines above.
Health, safety, and responsibility
Your comfort and safety matter to me, and I keep a gentle pace with breaks whenever you need them. Please let me know in advance about any health conditions, allergies, or mobility needs so I can plan a suitable route. You join the tour at your own responsibility and should have travel insurance that covers your trip. While I hold a Japanese nursing qualification, I take part in the tour as your guide and cannot be held legally responsible for illnesses or accidents that arise during our time together. In an emergency I will, of course, help you get appropriate care.
How to cancel or make changes
Please contact me through the Contact page or by replying to your booking confirmation message. Include your booking date and a short note, and I will reply within 48 hours.
